There will be three more months of shaking
The Lord spoke to me earlier this week that about a year ago He brought His people (the church/Ekklesia) onto a threshold. At that time I thought we were crossing a threshold not stepping into one. (See my previous post) I was not aware of the magnitude of the word I got last year until just the other day when the Lord brought me back to that word and expounded on it. Not only did He expound on a word I got last year but He also connected it with a word I got in 2005. The word from last year was that over the weekend of August 3-4, 2019 there was going to be a shift. That shift, Holy Spirit defined with the word liminal. (I’ll explain what that means in a minute)
Here is the word from September 2005 – “Have I not said I would shake everything that could be shaken? Did I not say I would shake heaven and the earth? What do you call it when I shake the earth? It’s called an earthquake. What are you supposed to do in an earthquake? You’re supposed to get to a safe place. So why are you trying to hold everything in place when I am knocking it down? Where is the safest place in the house during an earthquake? It’s on the threshold. Stay on the threshold and you won’t get hurt when things fall to the floor. Stay put until the shaking is over, for you stand on the threshold of destiny.”
The word liminal comes from a Latin word meaning threshold. Don’t you love how God gives revelation in piecemeal? Yeah, me too. Anyway, As the Lord expounded on the concept of liminal He gave me deeper understanding of what has been happening. I’m not referring to COVID or what is happening socially, economically or even politically. This refers to what God is doing among His people. This is about the work of the Spirit. He is shaking the House of the Lord. His holy mountain is shaking and as a result it is causing His people to disoriented and many are more than just a little afraid.
In a nutshell, liminal is the disorienting and ambiguous state associated with transitioning from one state of being to another. There is a lot that I could go into but that pretty much sums it up. It’s that lousy feeling you get when you are in limbo and don’t know what is going to happen next. You aren’t where you were but you aren’t where you’re going either. It’s disorienting and can be quite debilitating at times. It’s the feeling when you’re whole life has been turned upside down. Sound familiar?
What the Lord showed me was that He positioned His Ekklesia on a threshold last August. Many of us, including me, thought we were crossing a threshold not being positioned onto one, for what now seems indefinitely. This week the Lord said to me that it is because He is still shaking everything that can be shaken and we need to stay on the threshold (lininal) until the shaking is over. The good news is it’s almost over.
Here’s the word the Lord gave me this week:
This liminal state (the threshold) will continue for the next three months. That will put us around mid-November. Things are going to shake and continue to shake well into November. By Thanksgiving the quaking and shaking will taper off and end completely by the end of 2020. Only after the quake is over can the Ekklesia begin to take new steps in a new direction with a new focus and a new mandate.
In the midst of great trial know that God is with us. Know that as believers in Jesus Christ our lives are hidden with Christ in God. Hold on to God. Seek Him earnestly. Don’t let fear overtake you. Hold on. The shaking will come to an end. Hold still. Know that life is never going to be the same again when we emerge from this season. We aren’t going back to rebuild the old rubble. It will get swept away, starting over on an entirely new foundation. The shaking will have changed not only the landscape of the church, but will have decimated it. That is the purpose of the shaking. The earthquake is shaking the mountain of the House of the Lord and as a result what we know as church is being shaken. Much of what has been identified with the people of God, namely the church, in many ways will no longer remain.
ISAIAH 2:2-3 NLT In the last days, the mountain of the LORD’s house will be the highest of all— the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship. People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the LORD’s teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem.
A Word of the Lord to His Beloved Ekklesia
There are only three more months of shaking, remain on the threshold despite the uneasiness of the liminal status. Shake Shake Shake. The whole house of the Lord is shaking. Though other mountains may shake and fall the mountain of the house of the Lord will endure. Hold on and be established in the new place God has for you. The debris of the old will be removed and the building of the new will begin once we have entered the New Year.
As God shakes the mountain of the house of the Lord other mountains will crumble and fall. God is revealing Himself and the mountains of the earth will shake. The mountain of the house of the Lord will be raised up as the chief mountain. When this happens there will be an influx of pilgrims. Many will come flooding in.
“The nations that have raised themselves up against My people,” says the Lord, “will crumble and fall. You will see this with your very eyes. You will stand and see principalities and powers come down. You will see the powers which have held My people captive must relent. Chains will fall off My people and they will go free. I am still shaking the nations. I am still shaking the earth. I am still shaking My house. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. Don’t try to build while I am shaking things. Wait for the shaking to end. I will tell you when to begin to build again.”
MICAH 4:1-2 NKJV Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And peoples shall flow to it. Many nations shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Hebrews 12:22-29 BSB Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to myriads of angels in joyful assembly, to the congregation of the firstborn, enrolled in heaven. You have come to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if the people did not escape when they refused Him who warned them on earth, how much less will we escape if we reject Him who warns us from heaven? At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth, but heaven as well.” The words “Once more” signify the removal of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that the unshakable may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. “For our God is a consuming fire.”
May the grace of God be supplied in abundance. May He increase courage and strength to endure as He opens our spiritual eyes and give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Ekklesia. The Lord bless you and keep you, in Jesus’ name, Amen
